Dancing Flowers

The Dancing Flowers series was created during the isolation of the pandemic, when I turned to flowers, music, and my camera as a way of holding joy and hope.

In the dark, I placed flowers under a single light. Pachelbel's Canon in D with ocean sounds was the music I chose to play as I danced with my camera in my hands. Through long exposures and intentional camera movement, the gestures of my body entered the photographs —stems bending, petals sweeping through space, light becoming motion.

I was not simply photographing flowers, I was dancing with them. The resulting images became a  meeting of flower, music, light and movement—living gestures of hope flowing through the darkness.
